Innovation and Sustainability Associate

Shiok Meats is seeking to hire an Innovation and Sustainability Associate, to support our efforts to weave sustainability across our business value chain, promote innovative energy-related programs, work on operational strategy, project management and stay abreast of the innovation and developments in the alternative protein industry. The candidate will report directly to the COO and must possess exceptional organizational skills and be able to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

  • Based in Singapore

Required background:

  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in business administration/life science or related field.
  • Dual background in business and science is a plus.

Preferred Experience:

  • 2-3 years experience in the food and beverage/bio-pharma industry.
  • Familiarity with climate change reporting frameworks.
  • Familiarity and understanding of LCA standards and guidelines.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • A working understanding of sustainability-related issues in both local and global contexts.


  • Bring technical insight and expertise in driving strategic projects for the growth of the company.
  • Prepare clear and compelling market intelligence reports on innovation approaches to strategic decision making, Go-to-market process and environmental footprinting  in the context of cultivated meat/seafood industry.
  • Application of leading-edge innovation tools and services to drive innovation.
  • Support the successful commercialization of new products in line with regulatory laws/codes.
  • Build innovation and project management best practice capabilities across cross-functional teams.
  • Support primary and secondary research through diverse methodologies.
  • Identify and develop strategies to reduce cost to the business by innovative solutions. 
  • Manage and work as part of multidisciplinary team to develop Innovative solutions that help both internal and external stakeholders to solve complex business issues.


  • Strongly motivated and believes in mission to bring cell-based crustacean meat and seafood to market
  • Works well independently, as well as in a team; able to work collaboratively within and outside of the group
  • Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
  • Must be forward-thinking and be able to lead and contribute to company-wide strategies
  • Strong project management and leadership capability from concept to launch.
  • Have great attention to detail and quality
  • Have strong communication skills including verbal and written
  • Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust


The position is full-time and the candidate will be compensated similar to industry standards.
